*** Our first meeting of the season was held on Monday 15th September. This was our 'Chairman's Evening' with an interesting talk/lecture on 'MARINES IN TIGHTS'. Those of you who could not attend missed a super evening and a truly captivating talk from our Guest Speaker, Colonel Mervyn Lemon from Languard Fort in Felixstowe. Thankyou Paul for finding us such an interesting character to listen to on your 'Special Night'. We wanted to begin this year with lots of support from YOU, the members, and we had hoped to see more of you at the monthly meetings. Sadly, despite reminders sent out to everyone via email shortly before the date we only managed to entice 16 members plus our chairman. On a positive note we still have 4 meetings left for this season so please try your best to come along (Suffolk Ski Centre - 6.30pm) to boost numbers during our Diamond Anniversary Year, and beyond. Our next lecture sounds just as interesting with its title 'TYCO ELECTRONICS so if you want to find out more ....... you will have to attend on Monday 16th February 2009 !!!!!!! ***

We were all very sorry to hear that Harry Burslem's Wife has passed away, our thoughts are with Harry at this sad time.
The IDEA wishes Chris Stanley a speedy recovery with his illness. Chris is sadly missed at the moment at all of our meetings, but there is good news in that he is up on his feet.
Our Best wishes to Roy Everitt who is out of hopital and to
Roy Sheeran who is in Papworth doing Jigsaw Puzzles !!
Our President Mr. Robin Chesterman has at last got in to the 21st Century. He has an e mail address.
He is not telling anyone what it is, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"NEWSFLASH" ... It was decided at the meeting held on Monday 17th March 2008 not to publish the Minutes on the website any longer, but to forward them to members via email. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed reading them online but it was suggested that they were too private to publish and should only be available for members of the Association to read.

Some new and interesting future event ideas mentioned at our recent AGM were a night of Ten-pin Bowling, Go Carting, a Family Ramble, a visit - possibly Languard Fort in Felixstowe, and a Garden Party with Quiz and BBQ. Email, or drop us a line at the address on our 'Contact Us' page to let us know your opinions on any of these suggestions .... or why not come up with a few of your own!!! Without your valued support none of these can happen so let's have a little feedback from our members. If there is enough interest I'm sure anything is possible.
If you wish to make a donation with reference to Alan Tong's illness please make your cheque payable to 'Medical Research Council' and send it to .....
